New Hampshire, The Granite State, Live Free or Die, a place home to hardy New Englanders, lush forests, lakes, a small but beautiful coastline… and of course, mountains. In the heart of the NH Appalachians lies the White Mountains region, home to some of the largest peaks east of the Mississippi and most rugged alpine terrain in the country. In the epicenter of the Whites looms the Presidential Range and Mount Washington. Standing at 6,288’ feet, Washington is the tallest peak in the Northeast and for an astounding 62 years held the record for the highest recorded wind-speed on earth at 231 mph. The rugged alpine terrain and often harsh conditions of Washington and many White Mountain summits makes for superb climbing objectives and world-class training for technical alpine movement year round.

In the valleys and hidden notches lie some of the best rock and ice climbing venues in the country. Cathedral Ledge alone is home to world-famous summer and winter classics such as Thin Air (5.6) and Repentance (WI5 M4-5) and that is just the tip of the Iceberg. You would be hard-pressed to find a location that supports a higher concentration of quality rock, ice, and alpine climbing. There is a reason why many world-class mountain athletes and explorers call the White Mountains home. At just under 3 hours from Boston, 1.5 hours from Portland, and 6 hours from New York City the access is hard to beat.

With our home base nestled in the Mount Washington Valley and a lifetime of exploring and climbing here we are ideally situated to create an unforgettable experience for you and help you train for your wildest mountain goals
