The Sulphide Glacier route offers an excellent and classic introduction to alpine climbing. The route approaches through evergreen forests to our camp at the toe of the Sulphide Glacier. The terrain around camp is an ideal classroom for learning mountaineering and alpine rock climbing skills. On the four day variation we will teach rappelling, belaying, lowering and glacial travel techniques necessary to safely climb and descend the route. Those who wish to do the three day variation will need prior experience with these skills. Once we have the necessary skills we will launch our summit bid navigating glaciers, snow gullies, and the moderate rock terrain of the iconic summit pyramid. One additional night of much deserved rest will be spent at camp before descending back to our vehicles.
