On the south side of the Presidential Range lies a north-south slice through the White Mountains home to a trove of alpine climbs. On the east side of the Notch is Mount Webster, Willey’s Slide to the west, and to the northwest is Mount Willard. This area is home to classic alpine adventures ranging from introductory multi-pitch experiences such as Willey’s Slide (WI2) to stout WI5 climb’s such as Great Madness on Mount Willard. Some of our all-time favorites include Shoestring Gully (WI2) on Mount Webster and The Cleft (WI2+) on Mount Willard. Alpine climbs in Crawford Notch are ideal for novice and advanced alpine climbers alike.
